Monnow Bridge
From Symonds Yat

There are many places of interest in Monmouth. These include:

  • Monnow Bridge Gateway - the only remaining fortified Bridge Gate in Great Britain, dating from the 13th century
  • Remains of Monmouth Castle - birthplace of Henry V
  • Castle House - built in 1673 by the third Marquis of Worcester and now the headquarters of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia)
  • Monmouth Museum - features a collection of Admiral Lord Nelson's relics
  • Agincourt Square - the old Market Place dominated by the Shire Hall (currently undergoing restoration) built in 1724 on the site of an Elizabethan Market Hall. A local market is held here every Friday and Saturday (currently held at the end of Monnow Street opposite Waitrose during the Shire Hall's restorations)
  • Kymin and Naval Temple
